I am very excited to announce that the new book about A Soldier’s Child is finally here. Ten years ago I helped my brother-in-law, Daryl JW Mackin, startup this great organization and have watched it flourish over the years. As Executive Director, Daryl has been responsible for the growth and direction of ASC. He’s written a well documented and heartfelt narrative of the experiences of walking alongside the lives of so many children affected by the loss of a military parent. The book is titled A Life Worth Celebrating: Stories of an Organization Serving the Children of our Gold Star Families and is available now. Get yourself a copy today.
As you learn to listen and discover who you really are, you will experience a real and lasting freedom.
Ready for a new devotional for the 2017 Lenten season? Consider Love Sung, a new meditative journal, with an emphasis on hearing from God through the voice of the Holy Spirit. Love Sung: 31 days to Discover Your True Identity, by author and musician Theron Hatch, provides 31 days of insights into what it means to have Identity in Christ. Each daily read has a corresponding journal page to go along with the scripture and thought for the day.
God created us with a song to sing. We have an enemy that wants to distort it or keep it from being heard. Love Sung helps you hear it again and gives you tools to sing it out boldly. When you truly understand who you are in Christ, other areas of life begin to make sense. Your struggle to belong; your desire to become somebody; your need for acceptance; these are all found in Jesus through his Love.
What others are saying:
Henry David Thoreau is accredited with saying, “…many men go to the grave with their song still in them.” Listen to the music of Theron Hatch’s book “Love Sung.” It will help you find your song and sing it for all the world to hear.
— Ken Davis, Author / Speaker
Theron’s Love Sung is as much his story as it is the story of anyone of us who has put our song away, thinking it didn’t matter, only to one day realize that something important is missing. That the symphony is incomplete without us taking our seat in the orchestra. I hope that you will hear the words in Theron’s offering as purely as I know he presents them.
— Chip Dodd, PhD, Author of The Voice of the Heart
Lent begins on March 1st and ends on April 13th, 2017. Many people will give up something for the 2017 Lent season. Why not give up your attempt to become somebody and let God tell you who you already are. Love Sung will guide you on your journey home.

The latest Love Sung edition now includes a journal page for each daily read. Much of the feedback I received with the first release was related to not having any room to journal and no real desire to journal publicly online. In hindsight, both make a lot of sense. The Love Sung book website journal pages still exists, but neither the paperback or kindle versions point to it anymore.
Each journal page is setup as a lined page with a specific topical question for the day. I tried to make sure it wasn’t a leading question or a question that reinforced an old identity. Here is an example of one of the pages with a journal entry.
I hope you’ll consider enjoying this book. It is different because it doesn’t tell you what do. It only asks you to listen. It is already changing lives. When identity is confirmed, freedom is the result. You can purchase Love Sung at lovesungbook.com/store.
If you live/work in Franklin/Brentwood area and are a business leader, I’ll be sharing this Friday morning at Christian Business Leaders Roundtable, discussing the nature of Identity as it relates to business relationships and decision-making. “Is your identity merely the sum of your relationships and the decisions you’ve made or is it something more?” It’s a great group of folks that meet there weekly at Brentwood Baptist. It’s free. Here is a link to sign up. https://www.cblroundtable.com/event-1824026
